Most visitors to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabos rent their car at Los Cabos International Airport. This provides the most flexibility and the ability to travel at will around Baja. However it is not absolutely necessary to have a car during your entire vacation and you can also arrange for a rental car for the day at nearly all of the hotels in the area.

In order to rent a car in Los Cabos you will need to be able to place a deposit on a major credit card. Debit cards aren't accepted because the banks don't process them in Los Cabos.
